Ohio State Route 294 is a rural east-west highway in southern Wyandot County and in southern Crawford County. It's found in areas north of Marion, but south of Upper Sandusky and Bucyrus. The western end is at Ohio Route 37, near Marseilles. From there Ohio Route 294 heads due east, with its only disturbance in its eastbound direction coming as it joins Ohio Route 231 south for a short jog. This job occurs between its crossings of US Route 23 and Ohio Route 4. The eastern end occurs a bit east of the crossing of Ohio Route 4, at Ohio Route 98 south of Bucyrus. The only town Ohio Route 294 passes through is Harpster, west of US Route 23, and it's a very small town.
My photo for Ohio State Route 294 shows the eastern continuation of the route beyond its short jog south along Ohio Route 231. Just east of US Route 23, Ohio Route 294 joins Ohio Route 231 south for a bit, and then they split apart. The eastbound trailblazer shown in the photo shows that Ohio Route 294 is continuing east from Ohio Route 231, which is no longer mentioned on the signs. This photo was taken in October 2016, as I was using US Route 23 to go north from West Virginia to Toledo (and taking some minor detours). Back to Ohio Routes 200-299. Back to the Ohio main page.
