^Looking north from Iowa 2, south of Clearfield, at the southern end of Iowa 25, October 2021.
Iowa Route 25 is a long north-south highway that roughly separates the western third of Iowa from the rest of the state; that is to say, it's in near-western Iowa. The highway runs in the southern half of western Iowa, from US Route 30 in Scranton to Iowa Route 2 south of Clearfield. Between those two endpoints, Iowa Route 25 traverses through towns like Creston, Greenfield, and Guthrie Center.
An older photo once took center stage as the featured photo for Iowa Highway 25, but it has been replaced by an improved photo. The former photo is still available for viewing at the bottom of this page, however.
My photo of Iowa Route 25 comes from Creston, and it shows a northbound trailblazer seen by those departing from US Route 34. Iowa Route 25's northward journey involves a turn toward the east on US Route 34, and both routes enter Creston together. In Creston, Iowa Route 25 turns back toward the north, and this trailblazer confirms to travelers that this has just occurred. This photo was taken in October 2024, as I was driving all of US Route 34 from east to west.
The older photo of Iowa Route 25 is still here, and it appears immediately below this text.
My former photo for Iowa Route 25 is actually the southern end marker at Iowa Route 2, south of Greenfield. This southernmost section of Iowa Route 25 lies on the county line between Taylor County and Ringgold County. The end marker here faces north toward southbound traffic meeting the end of Route 25. I took this photo as part of the southern Iowa trip of October 2021. Back to the Iowa main page. Back to the home page.
