Ohio State Route 126 is a route in southwestern Ohio, that largely spans east-west. It has three separate phases. The first and westernmost phase begins as Indiana State Road 252 crosses into Ohio, east of Brookville, Indiana. Upon its inception, the alignment bends toward the southeast. At the town of Ross, Ohio Route 126 joins US Route 27 southeast for a short while. As the two concurrent routes get into the Cincinnati metropolitan area, Ohio Route 126 ditches US Route 27 to join an expressway toward the east. This expressway is the Ronald Reagan highway, and it comprises the second phase of Ohio Route 126. The expressway continues east through various Cincinnati suburbs until it reaches Interstate 71, but Ohio Route 126 keeps going as a surface route. Here, Ohio Route 126 ends its third and final phase. The surface route serves Montgomery, and bends southeasterly along the Little Miami River. Ohio Route 126 then ends at US Route 50 in Milford.
My photo of Ohio State Route 126 comes from the point where it joins US Route 27, near the town of Ross. Here, US Route 27 is a bit of an expressway, spawning ramps that form a diamond interchange. The photo looks east at signage helping eastbound travelers to anticipate the turn onto the southbound ramps to US Route 27. Note that this southbound onramp will carry the eastward progression of Ohio Route 126; the signage here indicates this. This photo was taken during the trip to southwestern Ohio in October 2018.
