^Eastbound trailblazer at US Route 20 in Bellevue, October 2023.
Ohio State Route 113 runs from Bellevue to Rocky River in north-central Ohio. It runs in an easterly direction from Bellevue, with a little bit of a northern tilt until it reaches the western Cleveland suburbs. Ohio Route 113 begins at US Route 20 and Ohio Route 18 in Bellevue, and it begins its journey toward the east-northeast. The highway is sandwiched between US Route 20 (to the south) and the Ohio Turnpike (Interstates 80 and 90) until it reaches Elyria. In Elyria, Ohio Route 113 bypasses downtown by a short distance by staying to the north and east. It joins Ohio Route 57, then it joins US Route 20. The concurrency with US Route 20 continues for almost twenty more miles until Ohio Route 113 ends in Rocky River, and honestly, I couldn't tell you why Ohio Route 113 doesn't just end in Elyria. I don't think any drivers are paying attention to Ohio Route 113 designation east of Elyria. Opinions aside, Ohio Route 113, in all actuality, ends where US Route 20 meets Ohio Route 254 on the west side of the titular Rocky River, in the town with the same name.
My photo of Ohio State Route 113 shows the western beginning and the first eastbound trailblazer, on the east side of Bellevue, Ohio. Travelers along US Route 20 and Ohio Route 18 can turn north at the junction to reach a road that immediately bends toward the right, and the trailblazer shown greets them as soon as they finish rounding the bend. This beautifully-lit photo (all credit goes to the afternoon sun) was taken late on an October day in 2023, as I was finishing my Ohio shield gallery in north-central portions of the state.
