^Looking south from the western junction with Michigan 72, August 2020.
Michigan Highway 93 is a minor route in the Grayling area, spurring out of Grayling in two different directions to access two points of interest. The northern end is Hartwick Pines State Park, the northern point of interest whose access road is Michigan Highway 93. Michigan Highway 93 heads southwest from the state park through an interchange with Interstate 75. After the interchange, it turns southward into Grayling, so it can join Michigan Highway 72 west. On the west side of Grayling, Michigan Highway 93 turns southerly once more onto its final stretch: the access road to the Camp Grayling Military Base. The entrance to the military base, the southerly point of interest accessed by Michigan Highway 93, marks the southern end of the route.
My photo of Michigan Highway 93 shows the southbound reassurance marker seen as Michigan Highway 93 splits from Michigan Highway 72, on the western outskirts of Grayling. At the intersection home to this signage, Michigan Highway 93 is splitting from the westward Michigan Highway 72 to end the concurrency of these two routes. The signage shown reaffirms to drivers that they are on the southward continuation of Michigan Highway 93 bound for Camp Grayling. This photo was taken in August 2020 as part of a trip to the Upper Peninsula, Mackinac Island, and Traverse City.
