Indiana State Route 256 is an east-west route in south-central Indiana.  It begins west of Interstate 65 and Austin, at Indiana Route 39 north of Little York; from this point of beginning, Indiana Route 256 heads east through Austin to the junction of Indiana Routes 56 and 62 on the west side of Madison.

My photo for Indiana Route 256 is the northbound guide assembly at the junction of Indiana Routes 3 and 256.  This sign points south to indicate the junction to northbound traffic on Indiana Route 3.  This is near the tiny town of Blocher, east of Austin.
