US Route 131 barely enters Indiana, dipping less than a mile south of the Michigan border to end at the Indiana Toll Road, which carries Interstates 80 and 90. US Route 131's distance in Indiana is just shy of one mile. South of the interchange with the Indiana Toll Road, the roadway continues as the northern beginning of Indiana Route 13. US Route 131, despite its minute presence in Indiana, is an important route in Michigan, running north to serve as the main north-south highway in Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, and points beyond.
My photo for US Route 131 in Indiana is actually the southern end marker! This set of signs faces north toward southbound traffic. The roadway carrying US Route 131 up until this photo carries Indiana Route 13 ahead into the photo's background. The Indiana Toll Road can be seen in the background, as well as the overpass carrying Indiana Route 13 farther to the south. Back to the Indiana main page. Back to the home page.
