Ohio State Route 430 is a southern, surface alternative to US Route 30's express route taken across the Mansfield area. The western end actually splits from Ohio Route 309, but that route is also an older surface alternative to US Route 30. That split is on the west side of Ontario, Ohio. Ohio Route 430 heads east right through downtown Mansfield, while US Route 30 bypasses on an expressway to the north. The eastern end of Ohio Route 430 occurs soon after it passes under Interstate 71 and over Charles Mill Lake. That endpoint is at Ohio Route 603, just south of US Route 30 in Mifflin. Full access is provided to US Route 30 at an RCUT intersection just to the north along Ohio Route 603.
My photo of Ohio Route 430 comes from downtown Mansfield, where Ohio Route 430's westward course is pulling beyond Ohio Route 13. The aperture looks west from the intersection of Park Avenue and Mulberry Street. The trailblazer shown helps westbound travelers on Park Avenue to understand that they are going west down Ohio Route 430. This photo was taken in October 2022, during my grand tour of northeastern Ohio.
