Ohio State Route 131 is an east-west route running from Milford, in the Cincinnati metropolitan area, east into the rural yonder of Fairfield County. Like the other Ohio state highways numbered in the 130's, this route is found in southwestern Ohio. The western end of Ohio Route 131, in Milford, is at US Route 50. The route passes over Interstate 275 with no interchange, and winds up exiting suburbia as it crosses Ohio Route 132. Newtonsville is a tiny hamlet that Ohio Route 131; besides this, Ohio Route 131 passes through no towns, on its way to the eastern end. The eastern end is at Ohio Route 138, which can take travelers northeast into Hillsboro. Oddly, after starting at US Route 50, Ohio Route 131 crosses US Route 50 again midway through its route.
My photo of Ohio State Route 131 comes from the southern end of Ohio Route 727, just west of Newtonville. The sign assembly depicted faces west, for the sake of eastbound travelers on Ohio Route 131 looking for the split with Ohio Route 727. This photo was taken during the southwestern Ohio trip of October 2018.
