Ohio State Route 643 is a fairly short route in northern Coshocton County and southeastern Holmes County. The northeastern end of Ohio Route 643, in southeastern Holmes County, lies at Ohio Route 93 just south of Sugarcreek and Ohio Route 39. From there, Ohio Route 643 runs southwesterly through Amish Country (note the Amish buggies in the above photo). The hilly countryside takes the route through some interesting landscapes. Ohio Route 643 passes to the west of Baltic, meeting Ohio Route 651 in New Bedford. After a total of 16 miles, Ohio Route 643 reaches the unincorporated community of Keene, where it ends at Ohio Route 83. This southwestern terminus is just north of Coshocton and US Route 36.
My photo for Ohio Route 643 comes from New Bedford, where it intersects Ohio Route 651. The photo looks north at a northbound trailblazer, seen by those who complete the turn from Ohio Route 651 onto Ohio Route 643. A short detour toward the north from the southeastern Ohio trip of March 2021 gave me the opportunity to take this photo.
