Ohio State Route 222 is a north-south route running through the middle of Clermont County, excepting the northern quarter of the county, roughly speaking. From the northern end at US Route 50, it heads south to meet Ohio Route 32 in Batavia. It joins Ohio Route 132 south for just a short bit through Batavia, then it continues heading southward. It curves around to Felicity, where it joins Ohio Route 133 for a short bit; it meets Ohio Route 756 in Felicity as well. The last bit of Ohio Route 222 cuts southwesterly to cross US Route 52 near the Ohio River. It proceeds a block or two beyond US Route 52 to end at the river in the small town of Chilo.
My photo for Ohio State Route 222 signage comes from the village of Felicity, Ohio. At the intersection where this signage is found, Ohio Route 222 turns from northerly to westerly, and Ohio Route 133 is continuing north off of a concurrency into the background. Ohio Route 756 comes from the west and joins this street northward, into the background, for a single block. The signage is trying to convey that continuation along Ohio Route 222 requires a turn at this intersection, and that Ohio Route 756's eastern progress is witnessed by making a right turn at the next intersection. This photo was taken in October 2018, during the tour of southwestern Ohio. Back to Ohio Routes 200-299. Back to the Ohio main page. Back to the home page.
