Ohio State Route 286 is a short route in southwestern Ohio. It runs east-west across the northern panhandle of Brown County, barely poking into Clermont County in the west and Highland County in the east. The western end occurs at US Route 50, where the otherwise easterly course of the highway bends northeasterly at the tiny town of Marathon. Ohio Route 286 begins there, providing an alternative for those who wish to continue easterly, more or less. The eastern extent of Ohio Route 286 passes through the hamlet of Needfull before ending at Ohio Route 134.
