Ohio State Route 505 runs north-south for ten miles in southwestern Brown County. The southern end is in the riverside town of Higginsport, at US Route 52. The "river" I'm referring to, of course, is the Ohio River. From this southern endpoint, Ohio Route 505 heads northward and upward, to provide a connection to Hamersville. It doesn't quite reach Hamersville, though; Ohio Route 125 has to pick up some of the slack, carrying travelers a bit farther northwest. In other words, Ohio Route 505 ends at Ohio Route 125, just shy of reaching Hamersville.
My photo of Ohio Route 505 shows the southern beginning and the first northbound trailblazer. Travelers turning off of US Route 52 onto the southern beginning of the route will see this scene as they depart from Higginsport. This photo was taken during the southwestern Ohio trip of October 2018.
