​Ohio State Route 176 runs southerly out of the heart of Cleveland as a freeway, transitioning into a surface highway that reaches the Richfield area.  As Interstate 71 bends westerly heading out of central Cleveland, Ohio Route 176 gives travelers an option to continue southerly along a freeway.  The freeway carrying Ohio Route 176 reaches its end at Interstate 480, where it has a full interchange; this full interchange also is equipped with ramps to spit travelers out onto Brookpark Road (Ohio Route 17), where Ohio Route 176 continues.  Ohio Route 176 turns westerly onto Brookpark Road for a fraction of a mile, so it can turn left and continue southerly along Broadview Road.  Then, Ohio Route 176 is free to continue southward through Seven Hills and Broadview Heights.  After that, Ohio Route 176 bends southeasterly to end a bit south of Richfield.  This southern endpoint is at Interstate 77, just south of its junction with Interstate 271.
