Ohio State Route 296 is a short east-west route in northern Champaign County, Ohio. Its western point of beginning is just barely northwest of Urbana, at the bridge where Ohio Route 29 crosses the Mad River. Ohio Route 296 heads due easterly here to the northern endpoint of Ohio Route 814, where it begins taking a more jagged, northeasterly path. This jagged northeasterly path takes Ohio Route 296 to a point just north of Cable, Ohio, where Ohio Route 296 ends at Ohio Route 245.
My photo for Ohio State Route 296 comes from the northern end of Ohio Route 814, which occurs in the middle of Ohio Route 296's path. This photo looks north at a sign for those on Ohio Route 814. The signage depicted indicates the point where Ohio Route 296 turns from easterly to northerly, signifying the transition into the more jagged northeasterly section of the route. This photo was taken in June 2016, as I was heading northwesterly from Columbus to my homeland of Chicagoland. Back to Ohio Routes 200-299. Back to the Ohio main page. Back to the home page.
