Ohio State Route 193 is a north-south highway from Youngstown to near Ashtabula. Nearly sixty miles in length, Ohio Route 193 is never more than ten miles from the Pennsylvania border. The southernmost stretch of Ohio Route 193 forms the western piece of the inner loop of freeways around downtown Youngstown. The very southern end of Ohio Route 193 is at Interstate 680. The freeway portion heads northeast from here, and shortly, Ohio Route 193 trades places with US Route 422 as the route using the freeway. From there, Ohio Route 193 runs straight northerly (more or less) as a surface road. After a long rural stretch, Ohio Route 193 bends northwesterly at Interstate 90 as it approaches Lake Erie. The route passes through Kingsville and North Kingsville, and then it ends at the lakeside highway of Ohio Route 531. Ohio Route 193 is sandwiched between Ohio Route 7 and the Ohio Route 11 freeway.
My photo of Ohio State Route 193 comes from the 4-way intersection with US Route 6, just west of Andover. The scene here is seen by drivers heading north along Ohio Route 193 as it runs away from the intersection; the trailblazer reassures drivers that that's what they're doing. This photo was taken during the grand tour of northeastern Ohio in October 2022. Back to Ohio Routes 100-199. Back to the Ohio main page. Back to the home page.
