Ohio State Route 684 is a very short north-south connector in northwestern Meigs County. It stems southerly from Ohio Route 681, where that route turns from westerly to northwesterly; those coming from the northwest can stay straight onto Ohio Route 684's northern beginning. From that northern endpoint, which is about ten miles south of Athens, Ohio Route 684 heads southerly for about three and a half miles. The southern end is at Ohio Route 143, in the small hamlet of Harrisonville.
My photo for Ohio Route 684 signage comes from the northern end, where it meets Ohio Route 681. A westerly Ohio Route 681 turns northerly at the point where Ohio Route 684 begins toward the south; the sign assembly shown faces those travelers going westerly at this point. That is to say, the aperture faces west at signage communicating to the westbound travelers on Ohio Route 681. This photo was taken in March 2021, during the grand tour of southeastern Ohio.
