Ohio State Route 237 runs north-south in the western and southwestern suburbs of Cleveland. Part of it is a freeway serving the Hopkins International Airport. The northern end is at an intersection where US Route 20 splits from US Route 6 and Ohio Route 2, on the west side of Lakewood, Ohio. Ohio Route 237 heads southerly with US Route 20 at first, but US Route 20 splits westerly after a short distance. Ohio Route 237 uses Riverside Drive and Rocky River Drive south. Until it reaches Ohio Route 10 (Lorain Road), Ohio Route 237 is found near the eastern bank of the Rocky River. As Ohio Route 237 reaches the Interstate 480 corridor, it jumps onto the Berea Freeway southbound (using a short jaunt on Ohio Route 17). The Berea Freeway carries Ohio Route 237 and serves the airport. Next, Ohio Route 237 stops being a freeway and passes through Berea. The southern end is at Ohio Route 82 in Strongsville.
My photo for Ohio State Route 237 comes from a junction between Ohio Route 17 and an exit ramp from the Berea Freeway. The Berea Freeway's northward progression ends here, but Ohio Route 237 continues. The northward progression of Ohio Route 237 is made possible by a tiny jog westward along Ohio Route 17 to Rocky River Drive. Rocky River Drive carries Ohio Route 237 farther north. The sign depicted faces those on the northbound onramp from the freeway; it instructs people to turn left onto Ohio Route 17 if they want to continue following Ohio Route 237 northward. This photo was taken in October 2022, during the tour around northeastern Ohio. Back to Ohio Routes 200-299. Back to the Ohio main page. Back to the home page.
