Ohio State Route 536 is a short route in Monroe County, stemming from a bridge to West Virginia. The bridge connects Hannibal, Ohio to New Martinsville, West Virginia. Coming from the east, West Virginia Highway 7 becomes Ohio Route 536 as it crosses the bridge, and the state line. The western end of the bridge meets Ohio Route 7, which Ohio Route 536 takes north for a bit. After a short concurrency, Ohio Route 536 departs toward the west at Hannibal. Ohio Route 536 then spends ten miles meandering northwesterly. It moves upward into the hills, eventually ending at Ohio Route 78 east of Woodsfield.
My photo for Ohio Route 536 signage comes from Ohio Route 7, along the concurrency shared between Routes 7 and 536. The junction marker faces south at those northbound drivers looking for the upcoming left turn onto Ohio Route 536's continuation. This photo was taken in March 2021, during the grand tour around southeastern Ohio.
