Ohio State Route 151 runs east-west in east central Ohio, specifically across northern Harrison County and central Jefferson County. The western end is at US Route 250 just east of Uhrichsville. From there, Ohio Route 151 winds through the hilly terrain of northern Harrison County, passing through Scio and Jewett. At Hopedale, Ohio Route 151 crosses to the south side of US Route 22 and enters Jefferson County. Ohio Route 151 passes through Smithfield and New Alexandria before ending at Ohio Route 7 in the Mingo Junction area, a few miles south of Steubenville. Signage for Ohio Route 151 can also be found along the north-south surface road that follows along the eastern side of the Ohio Route 7 freeway, as you'll see below.
My photo of Ohio State Route 151 comes from Commercial Avenue, the surface road alternate to Ohio Route 7. As Ohio Route 7 is an expressway, the old highway just east of the new expressway used to be the eastern terminus of Ohio Route 151. That's probably why signage for Ohio Route 151 is still find on the surface alternate and former main highway. The signage in the photo faces north on Commercial Avenue, telling southbound drivers where to turn in order to reach Ohio Route 151, which begins just to the west. This photo was taken as part of the tour of the southeastern quarter of Ohio in March 2021. Back to Ohio Routes 100-199. Back to the Ohio main page. Back to the home page.
