^Looking northeast from Ohio 44 and Ohio 14 at Ravenna, October 2022.
Ohio State Route 88 runs northeast out of Ravenna to Parkman, where it turns easterly to run across rural northeastern Ohio to the Pennsylvania state line. This highway is found in Portage, Geauga, and Trumbull Counties. The southwestern end of Ohio Route 88 at Ohio Route 59, the central east-west thoroughfare in Ravenna serving downtown. This terminus of Ohio Route 88 is on the east side of downtown Ravenna. From here, Ohio Route 88 heads northerly for a bit, thence bending northeasterly. It meets Ohio Route 82 at Garrettsville, and then it reaches US Route 422 in Parkman, where Ohio Route 528 is born. Ohio Route 528 takes over as the northerly route heading out of Parkman, while Ohio Route 88 turns due easterly. The eastward portion of Ohio Route 88's course is long, straight, and uneventful, only passing through some very small hamlets. One hamlet is Vernon, where Ohio Route 88 crosses Ohio Route 7 just before the Pennsylvania border. Ohio Route 88 continues all the way to the border a few miles east of Vernon, where it becomes Pennsylvania highway 358.
My photo of Ohio State 88 signage comes from Parkman, Ohio. The sign assembly depicted is a junction marker seen by westbound travelers on US Route 422. Ohio Route 88 meets US Route 422 at a 4-way intersection in Parkman, where Ohio Route 168 and Ohio Route 528 share a southern terminus. If the westbound travelers seeing this junction marker were to turn toward the right (north), they would be on Ohio Route 88 as well as the southernmost extents of Ohio Route 168 and Ohio Route 528. Like all of my other northeastern Ohio photos, this photo was taken during the grand tour of northeastern Ohio in October 2022. Back to Ohio Routes 1-99. Back to the Ohio main page.
