Indiana State Route 142 is minor southern alternate to Indiana Route 42 in the southwest part of central Indiana.  It passes through no towns, though the tiny hamlet of Eminence lies at its eastern end. That eastern end is at Indiana Route 42, and the eastern end is at Indiana Route 39 north of Martinsville.
