^Indiana Route 101 enters the state from the south, crossing the Ohio River at Florence, Indiana, August 2024.
Indiana State Route 101 runs in a staggering quantity of four separate sections along Indiana's eastern reaches. The first segment stays within four miles of the Ohio border east of the Fort Wayne area, from Indiana Route 1 near Butler to the southern end at Indiana Route 124 near Monroe. The second segment connects US Route 27/Indiana Route 44 in Liberty to Indiana Route 1 in Brookville. Next, the third segment, where I derived my older photo at the bottom of the page, runs from Interstate 74 south through Sunman to end at US Route 50 west of Dillsboro. The final and southernmost section of Indiana Route 101 is really just a bridge over the Ohio River and the ramp up to that bridge. That bridge starts at Indiana Route 156, and connects Florence, Indiana, to Warsaw, Kentucky.
An older photo was previously used as the main photo for Indiana Route 101, but I have since replaced it with a newer photo. That older photo is still available for viewing, though, at the bottom of this page.
My photo for Indiana Route 101 shows a guide marker pointing out the turn onto Route 101's bridge over the Ohio River near Florence, Indiana. Specifically, the signage points out the location of the bridge access to those on westbound Indiana Route 156. The piece of Indiana Route 101 referenced by the depicted signage is the southernmost piece, that really only consists to the Ohio River bridge to Kentucky. Note that guide markers to Interstate 71 and US Route 42 are shown here, even though neither of these other routes has any presence in the State of Indiana. The aperture, and the traffic reading this signage, faces west, but a turn toward the north is required to hook around to the southward bridge into Kentucky. This photo was taken as I was heading to Cincinnati in August 2024.
The former photo, which once took center stage on this webpage, still appears below.
This older photo for Indiana Route 101 is the guide marker on Indiana Route 350 westbound, at the 4-way junction at Milan, Indiana. This photo was taken in February 2017.
