Ohio State Route 319 is a tiny spur west into Burkettsville, a small town in west-central Ohio. Ohio Route 319 and Burkettsville both lie along the county line between Mercer County and Darke County. The position of the highway along the county line is probably the reason why ODOT hasn't relinquished this minuscule route; the counties presumably can't agree to a fair deal of each accepting half of the route or something like that. The eastern end of Ohio Route 319 is at Ohio Route 118. From there, Ohio Route 319 proceeds westerly for only six tenths of a mile. The route just ends in Burkettsville, in the middle of town. Because the route is so short, the two townships or counties would have a hard time dividing it and deciding who gets which three tenths of a mile. I think Ohio Route 319 is here to stay, despite its small length.
