Ohio State Route 762 is a fairly short route running from Harrisburg and Orient to the Rickenbacker Airport, in the southern outskirts of the Columbus metropolitan area. Though Columbus is in Franklin County, all of Ohio Route 762 is in extreme northern parts of the next county to the south, Pickaway County. The western end of the route, in Harrisburg, is at US Route 62 (concurrent with Ohio Route 3). Ohio Route 762 starts off toward the east, passing through Orient and Commercial Point before crossing Ohio Route 104. As Ohio Route 104 follows the west side of the Scioto River, and Ohio Route 762 continues east over the river, it follows that the next major intersection is with the highway following the east side of the Scioto River, US Route 23. The remainder of Ohio Route 762 beyond US Route 23 has the single intended purpose of spurring into Rickenbacker Airport. From US Route 23, Ohio Route 762 goes east for two miles before turning north for a mile and a half, to end at Rickenbacker Parkway, the service road to the airport.
My photo for Ohio Route 762 looks south from the eastern terminus of the highway, at Rickenbacker Parkway. As previously described, Ohio Route 762's eastern extent bends northward to serve the airport. The first trailblazer is shown in this photo, which looks south along the easternmost segment of the route. This photo was taken in March 2021, as I was getting started on a trip that would encompass the whole southeastern quarter of Ohio.
