Ohio State Route 657 runs northwest-southeast in Licking County and in southwestern Knox County. It connects Centerburg to Newark, but it doesn't quite reach either of these municipalities. The northwestern end, in southwestern Knox County, is at US US Route 36 just outside of Centerburg, which lies slightly to the southwest. Ohio Route 657 starts out heading due east, but it angles southeasterly after a fraction of a mile. It crosses US Route 62 and Ohio Route 661 after it enters Licking County, and then it ends north of Newark at Ohio Route 13.
My photo for Ohio Route 657 shows the northwestern beginning at US Route 36 near Centerburg. The highway runs east from this point, and this photograph looks east at the first trailblazer. The sign says "south" because the highway will soon make a right toward the south-southeast. This photo was taken in October 2022, as I was traveling between Columbus and Mount Vernon to kick off a tour of northeastern Ohio.
