Ohio State Route 814 is a short north-south road in rural Champaign County, Ohio. The northern end of Ohio Route 814 is at Ohio Route 296, a few miles northeast of Urbana. The southern end is a few miles due east of Urbana, at US Route 36. The route is a meager three miles long, but its number has an interesting backstory. The number on this road used to be "714", but that number drew intrigue and sign theft; that's because the number "714" is a police code and street slang for a certain illegal drug. Because of this number change, Ohio Route 814 is the only number in the 800s series that isn't referential to another route numbered under 100.
