^Looking east at Exit 47 to Ohio Route 4's northward continuation, September 2017.
Interstate 70 is the "Equator" of Ohio, running due east-west across the middle of the state. Interstate 70 bypasses Dayton to the north, not needing to stray from its east-west alignment to do so, but it passes right through the heart of Columbus. It enters Ohio at Richmond, Indiana, and it leaves the state crossing into Wheeling, West Virginia.
As with all of the Ohio Interstate pages, more information and a full exit list will come in the future. For now, enjoy this general information and a photo of the signage, in a similar fashion to how I do the state and US highway pages.
My photo of Interstate 70 signage in Ohio comes from Kirkersville, Ohio, where US Route 40 meets Ohio Route 158. Since US Route 40 meets Ohio Route 158 just north of Interstate 70, Ohio Route 158 is signed as a way to quickly jaunt over to the Interstate. The signage making that happen is shown in this photo-- the signage serving eastbound travelers on US Route 40, anyway. This photo was taken in March 2021 as I was completing a trip all around the southeastern quarter of Ohio.
