Ohio State Route 295 runs north-south in northwestern in Ohio, namely in areas west of Toledo. It's the state route linking areas of rural western Lucas County, though it barely pokes southerly into Wood County to end in Grand Rapids, Ohio. This southern endpoint occurs at Ohio Route 65, at the southern approach to a bridge over the Maumee River. Ohio Route 295's first task is to cross this bridge toward the north. Then, it follows the northwestern shore of the river for a few miles before turning northerly on a straight farm road. Ohio Route 295 crosses Ohio Route 64 at Whitehouse. Then, because the Toledo Express Airport gets in the way, it has to divert west a bit on US Route 20A, then back east on Ohio Route 2. Ohio Route 295 then continues northward independent to Berkey, a town on the Michigan border, where it ends. The road continues north of the Michigan state line, but not as a numbered highway.
My photo for Ohio State Route 295 comes from its 4-way intersection with US Route 20, a few miles south of Berkey. Ohio Route 120 is concurrent with US Route 20 here, so it's represented on this guide assembly, too. The sign faces west for eastbound travelers looking for the turn onto Ohio Route 295. This photo was taken in October 2023, as I was finishing coverage of northwestern Ohio. Back to Ohio Routes 200-299. Back to the Ohio main page. Back to the home page.
