Ohio State Route 715 is a scenic alternate for a portion of US Route 36, between Mount Vernon and Coshocton. It runs east-west overall, providing scenic views of the Walhonding River as it becomes the Kokosing River, which flows west toward Mount Vernon. As the river winds back and forth, Ohio Route 715 maintains a straighter course and crosses the meanders five different times. Keeping in mind that both ends of Ohio Route 715 occur at US Route 36, we can note that the western end is just east of US Route 62 and the small hamlet of Millwood; we can also place the eastern end near the small town of Nellie, where US Route 36 meets Ohio Route 79.
My photo for Ohio Route 715 comes from the western end of the route, just east of US Route 62. The camera looks west down US Route 36 at a scene with a guide marker to Ohio Route 715, front and center. I don't think many people will be heading west on US Route 36 just to turn east onto Ohio Route 715, but this signage is posted for people seeking to do that, anyway. This photo was taken just after sunrise on a long day during my tour of the northeastern quarter of Ohio, in October 2022.
