Ohio State Route 763 runs south from a junction near Decatur to a point near Aberdeen, in southeastern Brown County. The northern end of Ohio Route 763 is at an interesting 4-way intersection a mile west of Decatur; at this intersection, Ohio Route 125 turns from westerly to northerly, providing points of beginning for both Ohio Route 353 and Ohio Route 763. Ohio Route 353 heads west from there, but Ohio Route 763 gets started toward the south. Ohio Route 763 winds through the hills, overall trending downhill, as the highway ends in the Ohio River Valley, a mere mile from the water. The southern end of Ohio Route 763 converges with Ohio Route 41, which travels the remaining mile to US Route 52 and downtown Aberdeen, along the Ohio River.
My photo for Ohio Route 763 comes from the northern end, where it meets Ohio Route 125 and Ohio Route 353 at a four-way intersection just west of Decatur, Ohio. Westbound travelers leaving Decatur will see the depicted pair of junction markers as they approach the intersection. It announces the upcoming access to both Ohio state highways, 353 and 763. Those continuing on Ohio Route 125 will be required to turn right if they want to stay on that route; continuing straight will place people on Ohio Route 353, and a left turn will lead to Ohio Route 763. This photo was taken in October 2018, during my trip around southwestern Ohio.
