Illinois Route 17 spans the entire width of the state, at the northern end of what I'd consider "central Illinois". It runs east-west at a latitude about fifteen to twenty miles south of the Interstate 80 corridor, connecting with towns such as Kankakee, Dwight, Lacon, Wyoming, and Aledo.
Intersections will be listed from east to west, mainly because the western end is a dead end at the Mississippi River.
