Indiana State Route 912 is a freeway in the northwestern corner of Indiana, serving industrial areas in and around East Chicago. The route begins at the Indiana Toll Road carrying Interstate 90, which runs northwest-southeast in the area. From the Toll Road, Indiana Route 912 heads east, winds through industrial areas, and turns southerly, crossing the Toll Road again before continuing south to an interchange with Interstates 80 and 94. Much of Indiana Route 912 was closed until just recently, as the bridge carrying the freeway over a lot of the industrial areas fell into disrepair, and had to be replaced. The bridge now requires a toll to cross, to pay for the bridge replacement that has now been completed.
My photo for Indiana Route 912 is a guide marker facing east at the eastern end of Indiana Route 312. This is the eastern set of ramps to/from northbound on Indiana Route 912. The road is closed east of here, so this sign assembly actually faces nobody. Note that all of the signs on this assembly are vastly oversized. I don't like to use oversized signs as the sources for my shield gallery, but sometimes I have little choice in the matter. This photo was snapped in November, 2015.
