^Looking north at the northern split between Ohio 18 and Ohio 65 northwest of Deshler, October 2022.
Ohio State Route 65 runs from Toledo to near Sidney, through portions of northwestern and west-central Ohio. Ohio Route 65 begins at an interchange with Interstate 280 that's on the east side of the Maumee River. The route instantly crosses to the west side of the river to reach downtown Toledo, and it leaves downtown by crossing back to the east side of the River. Ohio Route 65 then follows alongside the river's southeastern bank, heading southwest to the town of Grand Rapids. Soon after passing through Grand Rapids, Ohio, Ohio Route 65 turns south away from the Maumee River. It then passes through Leipsic, and Ottawa, to subsequently form the main north-south route through Lima. Ohio Route 65 runs a little farther toward the south beyond Lima, through Jackson Center, to end east of Ohio Route 47 east of Sidney.
My photo of Ohio State Route 65 comes from its eastern junction with US Route 33 just east of Wapakoneta. Ohio Route 65 comes from the south to join US Route 33 west for a short concurrency. This photo looks west at a guide marker facing westbound travelers on US Route 33 bound for Wapakoneta. This photo was taken as I was driving home from my tour around southeastern Ohio, in March 2021. Back to Ohio Routes 1 through 99. Back to the Ohio main page. Back to the home page.
