Ohio State Route 348 runs east-west in south-central Ohio. It can be found in Scioto in Adams Counties. As Ohio Route 125 is heading east from West Union, Ohio, it splits into a continuation of Ohio Route 125, and the western start of Ohio Route 348. Ohio Route 348 runs northeast from the fork, and turns easterly through the rugged terrain. The highway crosses Ohio Route 73 at Otway, and then it ends at US Route 23 at Lucasville. The road continues east as an access road to the Lucasville Prison, labeled as Ohio Route 728.
My photo of Ohio Route 348 signage comes from Ohio Route 728, which extends east from Ohio Route 348's eastern terminus. The signage depicted shows a pair of westbound junction markers in Lucasville, as Ohio Route 728 is approaching US Route 23. The roadway continues west as Ohio Route 348; I couldn't tell you why Ohio Route 348 and Ohio Route 728 are two separate numbers for the same alignment. This photo was taken during the tour of southeastern Ohio in March 2021. Back to Ohio Routes 300-499. Back to the Ohio main page. Back to the home page.
