^Guide marker for northbound travelers pointing out the left turn carrying Iowa 110 away from 5th Street in Storm Lake, September 2019.
Iowa Route 110 is a short north-south highway in the Storm Lake area of northwestern Iowa. It's fifteen miles in length, with its northern reaches flanking the west side of Storm Lake (the lake). The northern end is at Iowa Route 7, in the northwest corner of the town of Storm Lake. The southern end is at US Route 20 near the town of Schaller. Iowa Route 110 passes through no towns other than Storm Lake and Schaller. The highway calls Buena Vista County and Sac County its home.
My photo of Iowa Route 110 signage comes from the northern end of Iowa Route 110, at Iowa Route 7. The signage depicted faces east for westbound travelers on Iowa Route 7. Guide marker assemblies like the one in the photo are helpful to drivers looking for where to turn; they're especially helpful to these drivers in ambient fog, like the fog I evidently encountered on the morning of September 15, 2019, when this photo was taken. This morning would be the last morning of my trip across northern Iowa.
