^Looking south on Iowa 14 from US Route 34 at Chariton, October 2021.
Iowa Route 14 is a north-south highway in the eastern part of central Iowa. It spans most of Iowa's north-south distance, running from Corydon in the south to Charles City in the north. The southern end in Corydon is at Iowa Route 2. The northern end in Charles City is an interchange with the Avenue of the Saints, carrying US Route 18, US Route 218, and Iowa Route 27. Between those endpoints, Iowa Route 14 passes through Chariton, Knoxville, Monroe, Newton, Marshalltown, and Allison.
My photo for Iowa Route 14 is the northern reassurance marker at the junction with Iowa Route 224, between Laurel and Kellogg. This is north of Interstate 80, but south of US Route 30 and Marshalltown. I took this photo in October 2021, on the way home from my trip to southwestern Iowa. This isn't in southwestern Iowa, though; this is in the central part of the state.
Please also enjoy some additional photos taken along Iowa Route 14:
Looking north in Parkersburg, at the northern extent of the concurrency between Iowa 14 and Iowa 57. Iowa 57 splits away here to continue westward.
Iowa 14's northward progression is interrupted by a short jog to the east. The end of that jog at the location of Iowa 224's northern end. The sign here shows people jogging eastward that Iowa 14 is about to turn back toward the north.
Looking north at the northern pair of ramps connecting Iowa 14 to Interstate 80 in Newton.
Northbound trailblazers for those leaving the Interstate 80 interchange in Newton. Note that US Route 6's eastward progression leaves a concurrency with Interstate 80 at this point, and it instead opts for a new concurrency northward along Iowa 14 for a short while.
Just a bit farther north, on the north side of Newton, US Route 6 splits from Iowa 14 to continue east.
Iowa 14 meets an interchange with US Route 30, which is an expressway here in Marshalltown.
As Iowa 14 is about to reach its southern end at Iowa 2 in Corydon, it is forced to jump east by a block. This is the turn toward the east.
After Iowa 14 jogs east by a block, it heads one more block to the south to end at Iowa 2 in Corydon.
