Ohio State Route 800 is a long north-south highway in eastern and southeastern Ohio. Ohio Route 800 was once part of Ohio Route 8, which was historically truncated to Akron. ODOT didn't feel like joining Ohio Route 8 to Interstate 77 for a concurrency that would have lasted from Akron all the way to Canton. Thus, Ohio Route 800 was separated out into its own route. The northern end is at Interstate 77 on the south side of Canton. The southern end is at a CDP called "Fly", at a junction with Ohio Route 7 home to a ferry terminal. This is the northern ferry terminal for a ferry crossing of the Ohio River, connecting to Sistersville, West Virginia.
My photo for Ohio Route 800 comes from a junction with US Route 22 south of Freeport, Ohio. US Route 22 and Ohio Route 800 join toward the south here for a short bit, before the two routes separate. This photo looks west at this northern point of convergence. This photo was taken during the great tour of southeastern Ohio in March 2021.
