Ohio State Route 551 is a short route running along the south side of Lake White, a lake near the town of Waverly in south-central Ohio. Ohio Route 551 has a northern counterpart, Ohio Route 552, which follows the northern shore of the lake. The western ends of both of these routes occur at Ohio Route 220, which hugs the west end of the lake. The eastern end of Ohio Routes 551 and 552 both occur at Ohio Route 104, which runs just west of US Route 23. Lake White is a lake found along Pee Pee Creek (no, I did not make up that name). Ohio Route 551 is under three miles long.
My photo for Ohio Route 551 shows the first eastbound trailblazer found by travelers encountering the western beginning of Ohio Route 551. Those turning off of Ohio Route 220 will see this sign. This photo was taken in March 2021, as the grand tour around the southeastern quarter of Ohio was just getting started.
