Ohio State Route 37 runs from Findlay to McConnellsville on a long, erratic southeasterly path. On a map, it appears like it should be three or four separate highway designations, but the various different contiguous alignments form one single cohesive route. Ohio Route 37 begins at the corner of Main and Center Streets in the center (appropriately) of Findlay. US Route 224 is the route Ohio Route 37 begins at, but Ohio Route 12 is moving from westerly to southerly as well. Ohio Route 37 zigzags its way out of Findlay, leaving town toward the southeast. At Magnetic Springs, Ohio Route 37 diverts to an east-southeasterly course through Delaware. The highway continues through Sunbury and Johnstown to Ohio Route 161's freeway. Ohio Route 37 joins the freeway for a short distance to the east. Ohio Route 16 takes over as the freeway, giving Ohio Route 37 the chance to turn straight south to Lancaster. At Lancaster, Ohio Route 37 turns due easterly onto its last stretch. This last stretch passes through New Lexington and ends at a roundabout in McConnellsville. This roundabout has Ohio Route 60 running from south to north, but Ohio Route 78, which joins Ohio Route 37 for its last hurrah, also is present, joining Ohio Route 60 to the south.
My photo of Ohio State Route 37 signage comes from Sunbury, where it meets US Route 36. The aperture looks northward at a guide assembly on the northeast corner. Ohio Route 3 runs north-south through the intersection, and Ohio Route 37 runs east-west through the intersection. US Route 36 comes from the west and turn northerly, as indicated by the US Route 36 marker shown. This photo was taken starting out from Columbus on the grand tour of northeastern Ohio in October 2022.
