Illinois Route 59 runs north-south in Chicago's far western and northwestern suburbs. It almost reaches Wisconsin, but stops just short at Antioch. From that northern point of beginning, it heads south through many busy suburban areas and shopping districts, ending by essentially spilling out into the interchange of Interstates 55 and 80 in Shorewood.
