Ohio State Route 257 follows the Scioto River north out of Dublin, until the village of Prospect, in Ohio. The route lies in areas near to the north of Columbus. The southern end in Dublin is a roundabout involving US Route 33. From there, Ohio Route 257 follows the east bank of the Scioto River upstream (northward). As Ohio Route 257 reaches US Route 42, just southwest of Delaware, the state highway uses US Route 42 to cross to the other side of the Scioto River. Then, it turns northerly to follow the western bank of the river, all the way into Marion County. Ohio Route 257 only barely pokes into Marion County, though, ending in Prospect at Ohio Route 47.
My photo for Ohio State Route 257 comes from its intersection with Ohio Route 750, by the town of Powell. The photo shows a junction marker seen by Ohio Route 750's westbound traffic, outside the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. A guide marker for Interstate 270 sits next to the junction marker, telling those westbound travelers that an interchange with Interstate 270 lies just to the south along Ohio Route 257. This photo was taken as I was setting out toward home from Columbus in June 2016. Back to Ohio Routes 200-299. Back to the Ohio main page. Back to the home page.
