Ohio State Route 380 runs south from Xenia to near Wilmington, in near-southwestern Ohio. Xenia is full of diagonal routes, like US Route 42, which runs southwesterly, and US Route 68, which runs southeasterly. Ohio Route 380 fills the gap in demand for those looking to head due south, more or less. However, since there aren't really any towns directly south of Xenia, Ohio Route 380 is a rural route. First, Ohio Route 380 begins at the central intersection of Xenia, at US Route 42 and Business US Route 35. It follows US Route 68 south for its first several blocks. Very soon after starting, Ohio Route 380 splits from US Route 68 in Xenia. Farther south, crosses over Interstate 71 right where it meets Ohio Route 73. The southern end is at US Route 22 (and Ohio Route 3) a few miles west of Wilmington.
My photo of Ohio Route 380 comes from its intersection with Ohio Route 73, seconds away from Interstate 71. In fact, the overpass in the background of this photo of the northbound trailblazer is for crossing over Interstate 71. Note that no access to the Interstate highway is seen here, but that access is granted by a short jaunt west on Ohio Route 73. Travelers turning off of Ohio Route 73 toward the north will use the depicted trailblazer to affirm they are heading northward on Ohio Route 380. This photo was taken in February 2017. on a convoluted route home from Central Ohio using Interstate 71 and Interstate 74.
