Ohio State Route 531 follows the shore of Lake Erie in Ashtabula County, in the northeastern corner of Ohio. Each terminus of Ohio Route 531 occurs at a point that also serve as the northern terminus of a north-south route. The western end is in Geneva-on-the-Lake, as the roadway bends into the northern beginning of Ohio Route 534. Ohio Route 531 then spends 21 miles serving shoreline destinations, including those in the City of Ashtabula. Speaking of Ashtabula, that is where Ohio Route 531 catches the northern end of the Ohio Route 11 freeway. The eastern end is in Conneaut, at an intersection involving the northern terminus of Ohio Route 7.
My photo for Ohio Route 531 shows a guide marker at an intersection where Ohio Route 531 makes a turn, in Geneva-on-the-Lake. Ohio Route 531's westbound progression is interrupted by this stop sign. The guide marker tells travelers to turn left in order to stay on the state highway. This photo was taken in October 2022, during the grand tour of northeastern Ohio.
