Indiana State Route 61 runs north-south in southwestern Indiana, beginning in Vincennes and heading south to a point on the Ohio River upstream (east) of Evansville. It passes through towns like Petersburg, Lynnville, and Boonville. The northern beginning is at US Route 41 in Vincennes; the only problem is that US Route 41 at this point is a freeway with no access to the road carrying Indiana Route 61. To get from US Route 41 to Indiana Route 61 or vice versa, use St. Clair Street northwest to US Route 41's business alignment. As you might expect, Business Route 41 can be used as a way to access mainline US Route 41, by traveling to either end of this business alignment. Anyway, the southern alignment, which I haven't mentioned yet, is at Indiana Route 66 just east of Newburgh, near the Ohio River.
