Ohio State Route 682 is a short state highway in the Athens area. It begins at a trumpet interchange on the south side of Athens, at US Route 50's freeway bypass of that city. Ohio Route 682 initially runs northwest from there, around the west side of Athens. It curls northerly through the town of The Plains, Ohio. Ohio Route 682 then crosses a diamond interchange with US Route 33, at a sharp angle; here, it is almost parallel with US Route 33. That roughly parallel segment with a sharp turn eastward into Chauncey, where Ohio Route 682 ends. This northern end in Chauncey occurs at a junction with Ohio Route 13.
My photo for Ohio Route 682 shows a southbound trailblazer near US Route 33 and the northern end in Chauncey. At this point, Ohio Route 682 has left Chauncey toward the west, and it has just completed a southerly turn to run parallel with US Route 33. Soon, looking into the background of this photo toward the south, Ohio Route 682 will curve southwesterly through an interchange with US Route 33. This photo was taken in April 2021, during a trip down US Route 33 toward Virginia.
