US Route 460 runs from Frankfort, Kentucky, east to just shy of the Hampton Roads area in southeast Virginia. The western end occurs at US Route 60 and US Route 421 in Frankfort, and from there US Route 460 heads east through eastern Kentucky and into Virginia. US Route 460 runs east-west across southern Virginia, but not southernmost Virginia (that's US Route 58's job). US Route 460 also grazes the southern extent of West Virginia, passing through Bluefield and Princeton in that state. The eastern end of US Route 460 is at US Routes 58 and 13 in Suffolk, Virginia, just west of Norfolk and the Hampton Roads area. (I'm not sure why Suffolk is west of Norfolk in Virginia, but it is what it is.)
My photo for US Route 460 sits on US Route 1 just southwest of Petersburg, Virginia. The intersection that appears in the photo marks the southwestern end of US Route 1's concurrency with US Route 460. The sign assembly shown faces northeast on US Route 1, which runs parallel to Interstate 85's northeast-southwest trajectory in this area. An interchange with Interstate 85 lies just one block to the southwest of here (so to the right, looking into the photo). This photo was taken as part of the Virginia trip in April 2021.
