^Looking northwest along Indiana 441's bridge over the Wabash River in Vincennes, April 2018.
Indiana Route 441 is a short spur off of US Route 41 in Vincennes, connecting US Route 41 to the bridge out of downtown Vincennes, that crosses the Wabash River into Illinois. Most of Indiana Route 441 occupies the southern portion of the Business route of US Route 41 in Vincennes, from the southern end at US Route 41 to the corner of 6th and Vigo Streets. From 6th and Vigo, Indiana Route 441 splits from Business US Route 41 and heads straight for the Lincoln Memorial Bridge straddling the Wabash River and the Illinois state border. That is to say, Indiana Route 441 uses Vigo Street northwest for its last half of a mile, ending at the Lincoln Memorial Bridge. On the west side of the bridge, the roadway meets a point where Illinois Route 33 gets its eastern start.
My photo for Indiana Route 441 is along that route looking southbound on Vigo Street, approaching the 6th & Vigo Street intersection where Indiana Route 441 joins Business US Route 41 south. The sign assembly depicted faces north and shows southbound travelers seeking to navigate the upcoming intersection how to stay on Route 441. Back to the Indiana main page. Back to the home page.
