​Ohio State Route 82 is an east-west highway in northeastern Ohio.  It begins between Elyria and Grafton along Ohio Route 57, and it heads eastward from there, to flank the Cleveland area to the south.  Ohio Route 82 meets US Route 42 and Interstate 71 in Strongsville, and then it passes under the Ohio Turnpike, which carries Interstate 80 southeasterly (through this area, anyway).   Next, Ohio Route 82 passes through North Royalton, Broadview Heights, and Brecksville, which are southern exurbs of Cleveland. At Brecksville, Ohio Route 82 meets Interstate 77 and then Ohio Route 21. East of there, Ohio Route 82 meets Ohio Route 8 and Interstate 271 at Macedonia, Ohio. Then, Ohio Route 82 reaches Twinsburg, connecting with Interstate 480 and Ohio Route 91.  One it enters Portage County, Ohio Route 82 meets Ohio Route 43 in Aurora. Getting away from the Cleveland megalopolis, Ohio Route 82 turns a bit southeasterly at Hiram to pass through Garrettsville.  The route straightens out toward the east more or less as it enters Trumbull County, but that doesn't last long, as Ohio Route 82 turns on a northern bypass around Warren.  This bypass is an expressway shaped like an upside-down "U".  When Ohio Route 82 completes its northern bypass and it has gotten beyond Warren, it heads due east through an interchange with the Ohio Route 11 expressway.  The expressway-like nature of Ohio Route 82 continues a bit farther to the east as it heads for Sharon, Pennsylvania.  Just before Ohio Route 82 reaches the state border, though, US Route 62 comes from the southwest to intercept the route, and Ohio Route 82 is forced to end at a cloverleaf interchange with US Route 62 just west of the state line.
