Indiana State Route 236 has two separate east-west segments. The much larger western section is in west-central Indiana, from US Route 41 near Marshall, east to Indiana Route 39 in Danville, Indiana. The small eastern section is a spur from Indiana Route 9 on the south side of Anderson, east to Middletown. This eastern extent in Middletown meets no other marked highway.
My photo for Indiana Route 236 is the junction along Indiana Route 9 in Anderson, marking the western end of Route 236's eastern segment. The sign assembly depicted is for southbound traffic on Indiana Route 9, just ahead of the junction with Indiana Route 236.
